Why You’re Leaving Money on the Table Without an Email List
I say it all of the time … if you are running a digital business, you need an email list.
So many of us are relying on Instagram, Facebook, SnapChat, YouTube, TikTok, or a variety of other social sites to build and grow our businesses and, while they’re great tools, they shouldn’t be the only ones we’re using. At any point, the owners of these platforms could shut it down or drastically change the way they’re showcasing business profiles and we would have to do complete overhauls of our marketing strategies.
Take Instagram for example. A few weeks ago, they changed the way hashtags showed up until we made it through the election. Think of where you would be if they decided to get rid of hashtags completely. I’m not saying that are or that they will but that’s the chance you take when you build your business on someone else’s free platform. You never know what the creators will choose to do with their platforms. If something were to happen to your social sites, how would you get in touch with your customers? Do you have a way or would all of those leads you’ve been nurturing just disappear into thin air?
Enter … you guessed it … EMAIL MARKETINGGGGGGGG.
You guys, you need a way to keep in contact with your customer base. There is no better way to do this than with email marketing. This puts you right in their inbox which puts you right at the forefront of their minds.
Not only is it effective, it’s cost-effective as well. According to HubSpot, email marketing generates $38 for every $1 spent. That’s a HUGE ROI! And all you need to make that impact is a good copywriter and an email list. There are no influencers to mess with. No Facebook ads to paid for. No TikToks to make. Just good old fashioned words (and some links to your product, of course!)
Emails build a community and an authority with your audience and an audience that feels like they know you and can trust you is an audience that is more likely to buy from you or refer you to others who need your product.
